Guidelines for Authors

Authors wishing to submit their contributions to the journal Perseitas should take into account the following aspects:

1. Academic background and affiliation of the authors.

2. Types of articles

3. Formal requirements

4. Organization of the text

5. Structure of citations and references

6. Publication and dissemination

7. Receipt of contributions

1. Academic background and affiliation of authors

Articles will be received from authors with an academic level of master's degree, doctorate, post-doctorate (equivalent foreign degrees).

The journal will not have more than one article from the same author per volume; it is also clarified that, in order to submit a new original manuscript, the author will have to wait for a minimum period of one year.

In order to ensure institutional exogamy, the publication of texts by authors external to the Universidad Católica Luis Amigó will prevail, without this taking precedence over the quality of the content.

2. Types of papers

Perseitas Journal accepts the following types of papers:

  • Articles of scientific and technological research: presents in detail the original results of completed research projects. Its structure contains four fundamental sections: introduction, methodology, results and conclusions.
  • Reflection articles:shows the findings of a completed research from an analytical, interpretative or critical perspective of the author, on a specific topic, using original sources.
  • Review article:product of a completed research in which the results of published or unpublished research are analyzed, systematized and integrated, in a field of science or technology, in order to account for the advances and development techniques. It is characterized by presenting a bibliographic review of at least 50 references.
  • Reflective article, not based on research (essay): a paper that presents a topic in a clear and organized fashion, with arguments and conclusions.

3. Formal requirements

The document must have a minimum of 9 pages and a maximum of 25 pages, not counting the list of references. Citations, references, tables and figures in Perseitas must be in accordance with the APA 7 Standard. You may refer to the APA Capsules made by the Fondo Editorial Universidad Católica Luis Amigó to consult the details (https://www.funlam.edu.co/modules/fondoeditorial/category.php?categoryid=46). The text should be sent in Word format, letter size page, 3 cm margins on all sides, 12 point Arial font and 1.5 line spacing. If the contribution contains fragments or words in Greek or Hebrew, the typography should be sent.

4. Text organization

Structure

  • Title in Spanish, English and in the original language of the article (in case the article is in a language other than these two).
  • Authors: include the bibliographic name and surname, i.e., as commonly used in scientific publications. The standardization of this data allows the traceability of the author's production.
  • Analytical abstract in Spanish, English and in the original language of the article (in case the article is in a language other than these two), with a maximum length of 250 words describing the main idea, objectives, conclusions and, in the case of a scientific research article, the methodology.
  • Author's note: indicate at the bottom of the page the last level of education, institution to which he/she belongs (without abbreviations), city, country, research group (in case he/she belongs to one), ORCID, e-mail.
  • Note on the origin of the article: indicate at the bottom of the page, and according to the typology of articles in our guide for authors, the type of contribution you are sending and, if applicable, the research project to which it is linked and the institutions that financed the research.
  • Between six and eight keywords in Spanish, English and in the original language of the article (in case the article is in a language other than these two), from a thesaurus of the discipline. The keywords are separated with the punctuation mark semicolon (;).
  • Development: expand the sections of the text according to the type of contribution to which it belongs.
  • Authorship contribution statement: in the case of articles written in collaboration, the individual contributions of each author must be described. For this it is necessary to carefully review our Authorship Policies.

  • Conflict of interest: the author declares that there is no potential conflict of interest related to the article.
  • References: The manuscript must have at least 30 references for all types of articles. Additionally, a considerable percentage of these sources should correspond to documents no older than 5 years. We recommend our collaborators to retrieve material from databases such as Scopus, EBSCO, Web of Science, Scimago, Sage Journals, ScienceDirect, Springer, Taylor and Francis, among others.
