The crisis of the humanities occupies a central place in the contemporary intellectual debate. The future of the humanities is uncertain in a world in which the productive apparatus is productive apparatus becomes more and more totalizing and tries to permeate all human spheres. Not even university academic culture can be understood outside this apparatus, since it is frequently conditioned by valuation schemes that are produced outside the university and that are at the service of transnational interests (Santos Rego & Fernández-Ríos, 2016).
