This article intends to expose some of William Ospina’s criticisms regarding the concepts of reason and progress within the western society. As there are many detractors on Ospina’s western Enlightenment culture criticism, this paper addresses reasons behind the western human beings’ justification upon such a society. Methodology: The literary review favoured a qualitative research from a hermeneutic-interpretative approach. Insofar as the reason, the western society and the so called Enlightenment thought have not been able to achieve their goals; but instead society has become more dangerous and disastrous not only for the current community, but also for future generations, the text concludes by legitimizing and acknowledging Ospina’s assertions.Downloads
