Abstract

Employee retention has recently become a very strong practice within organizations, since it allows identifying individuals in key positions in the company and doing actions aimed at keeping them in the company. This paper focuses on strategies devised with that purpose, among which it is worth noting autonomy offered to employees in the exercise of their functions, information shared on the strategy, getting them involved in the pursuit of goals and opening room to the development of career plans, etc. Nevertheless, in order to implement them adequately, both training and awareness become necessary, not only among top executives, but also among employees at all hierarchical levels, since such strategies apply to particular individuals and not to their roles.

It may be noticed that there are difficulties for an organization to decide to draw up employee retention strategies, which do not properly refer to the lack of strategies, but to their pursuit within the organization, to the management’s capability to assess their pertinence and necessity, to the employees’ ability to require them, and to the human management policies implemented.
