Abstract

This article intends to place the relations between the andean countries, specifically, Colombia, Ecuador,
Peru and Venezuela in the Latin American context of the socio-economic and socio-politic process of
integration. It points out the difficulties encountered by these nations to move forward in the development
of effective instruments of integration, given the ideological and political differences between their
governments and given the climate of confrontation that there has been derived in terms of economic and
social models.
