Abstract

One of the recurring themes in Foucault’s work is the power and his definition beyond the framework of the
political philosophical thinking which makes the power of the ruler the essence of his definition. Foucault is
interested in an analytic of power that places the definition the multiple relations of power at the center. In
this sense, the first volume of History of sexuality proposes some methodological aspects that indicate the
uniqueness of Foucault’s genealogy and pave the way; in order to relate power and biopower through the
analysis of sexuality.
