Keywords:
Suicide, Social Psychology, Symbolic Interactionism, Role, PostmodernismAbstract
The purpose of this paper is to present a reflection on suicide and the attempted to commit suicide from several perspectives. The author presents a conceptual exhibition in three stages: the first one locates theoretically the suicide; a second introduces the conceptual foundations of Social Psychology and Symbolic Interactionism, and a third analyses postmodernism, as a backdrop to the current revision of this phenomenon. Based on this conceptual review, the text shows the possible presentations of suicide, as an emergency in different social settings.© Revista Colombiana de Ciencias Sociales.
