Authorship and Contributions Policy (CRediT)
The journal Perseitas considers an author to be any person who has made a significant intellectual contribution to the development of an article. Based on the definitions established by the Council of Science Editors (CSE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the journal establishes that the following conditions must be met to qualify for authorship:
- Participation in the drafting of the manuscript or significant contribution to its critical revision.
- Review and approval of the final version for publication.
- Signature of the copyright transfer agreement.
- Acceptance of responsibility for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the manuscript are appropriately investigated and resolved.
Those who do not meet these conditions but contributed in other ways, such as funding acquisition, supervision, mentoring, technical assistance, provision of resources, or methodological support, may be acknowledged in the acknowledgments section.
To strengthen transparency, academic integrity, and the fair recognition of individual and institutional contributions, the journal adopts the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) framework.
The implementation of CRediT allows for:
- Accurate description of the roles assumed by each participant.
- Fair recognition of contributions.
- Avoidance of ambiguities in the assignment of responsibilities.
- Reduction of potential authorship conflicts.
- Strengthening of the traceability of research results.
- Promotion of transparency in editorial and scientific processes.
The CRediT taxonomy complements authorship recognition but does not replace it. Authorship is attributed exclusively to those who meet the criteria defined in this policy.
Statement of Author Contributions
All manuscripts must include a Statement of Author Contributions at the end of the text and before the reference list. This section must specify the individual contributions of each author, using the roles defined by the CRediT taxonomy as a reference.
Recognized roles include:
- Conceptualization.
- Methodology.
- Investigation.
- Data curation.
- Formal analysis.
- Supervision.
- Project administration.
- Resources.
- Software.
- Validation.
- Visualization.
- Writing – original draft.
- Writing – review & editing.
A single person may assume more than one role, and a single role may be shared by several authors.
For manuscripts submitted under a double-blind peer review process, the description of contributions may be presented anonymously using identifiers such as “Author 1” and “Author 2,” in order to ensure both confidentiality and editorial transparency.
ORCID and Author Identification
To prevent errors in the identification of scholarly output and ensure the correct attribution of publications, the journal requires all authors to provide their ORCID identifier. Although ORCID alone cannot guarantee the authenticity of authorship, it constitutes an additional mechanism for academic verification and traceability.
Changes in Authorship
By signing the copyright transfer agreement, authors declare that they meet the authorship criteria established by Perseitas and that no individual deserving authorship recognition has been omitted.
Any addition, removal, or reordering of authors must be made prior to the acceptance of the manuscript and will require approval from the editorial team. Requests must be submitted in writing, stating the reasons for the modification and including the express consent of all authors involved.
Once a manuscript has been accepted, the editorial team will consider changes in authorship only under exceptional circumstances.
