Abstract

The Pablo Tobón Uribe Hospital (HPTU) located in the city of Medellin in its search to improve the processes and efficiency of patient care, incorporated AutoIt technology, which uses a combination of simulated keys, mouse movement and window/control manipulation to automate tasks. The HPTU identified the need to automate the patient creation process containing the management of electronic medical records of foreign patients, through a platform called Web Checking.
This information is recorded in the cross-cutting system of the hospital ‘SERVINTE’, in order to minimize time, eliminate reprocesses, errors and contingencies. It is concluded that, thanks to this implementation, HPTU has improved the efficiency of its processes by automating tasks that were done manually.
