Critical awareness of the present for the future of history

Abstract

For the presentation of Volume 16, Number 2, the editor proposes a situated and reflective examination of the social, political, economic, and cultural phenomena that shape the present, with the aim of envisioning a more just and equitable future; In this regard, the path forward is defined by the need to cultivate a critical consciousness that, through interdisciplinary and collaborative analysis as well as the integration of knowledge, enables social transformation. The journal aims to strengthen the dialogue between academia and society by promoting critical perspectives and forward-looking reflection. This issue brings together research articles, reviews, and reflections on key issues and theoretical themes such as social protest and demonstrations, street sexual harassment, migration, inclusive tourism, urban policies, COVID-19, disability, identities, and models of rationality.
