Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The margins are 3 cm. on all sides: top, bottom, right and left of each page. Times New Roman font, size 12 points. Text in line 1.5, justified. Bleeding is used at 0.6 cm. from the second paragraph.
  • The tables do not have lines separating the cells, they use simple line spacing and are identified with their respective title and source. Same with the figures. All the figures and tables are inside the text in the corresponding place and not at the end of everything. In addition the tables and figures are numbered and have title. In case of using figures or tables of other authors, the credits are given and the use permit is requested.
  • The figures are also attached in high-quality JPEG format: 1200 dpi for black and white images, 600 dpi in gray scale and 300 dpi for color.
  • The manuscript has a maximum of 10,000 words, except references.
  • The article is written with correct spelling and grammar.

  • The titles of books, magazines, newspapers, movies and television programs, the anchors of a scale and for words in another language appear in italics.

  • The use of secondary appointments or "dating appointments" is avoided.
  • The use of ampersand (&) is exclusive for parenthetical citations and references
  • The submission has not been previously published or previously sent to another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the editor).

  • The file sent is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect format.
  • In citations and references appear the two surnames of the Spanish-American authors, when they are signed in the work consulted. It has complied with the way to quote directly and indirectly, with the respect due to intellectual property.
  • Web addresses have been added for references where possible.

  • Authors must attach the article along with the conflict of interest statement and the article copyright agreement, which can be downloaded at:

  • The sources used are of high scientific quality, such as: journals indexed in prestigious databases, books by authors with scientific trajectory, reliable websites...
  • Those interested in submitting articles must fully comply with all the requirements mentioned in the Code of conduct and guide for authors

Author Guidelines

Form characteristics of the document:

  • Digitized in Word, in letter size.The margins must be 3 cm on all sides.
  • Times New Roman, size 12 pt.
  • The text must have a line spacing of 1.5 lines, justified and without indentation in the first paragraph of each section; from the second paragraph the indentation to the left must be used. In tables and figures, the line spacing will be in a simple space.
  • Tables and figures should have a specific title and source, a line separating the cells of the tables is not necessary
  • The minimum extension is 7,000 words and the maximum is 10,000, including tables, illustrations and notes, and except references.
  • The standard that is followed for citations, references, tables and figures is APA (6th edition in English, 3rd in Spanish).
  • The title of the article must be written in uppercase, bold and centered. The subtitles must be written in bold and aligned to the left, with the first word in initial capital, the others in lowercase, except the proper names. Subtitles must be bold, italic and capitalized only in the initial letter.

- The Revista Colombiana de Ciencias Sociales recommends consulting the APA Capsules session, prepared by the Fondo Editorial Universidad Católica Luis Amigó, with the most recent update of the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition in English and 4th in Spanish.

Editorial

Documento escrito por el editor, un miembro del comité editorial o un investigador invitado sobre orientaciones en el dominio temático de la revista.

Original scientific article

Presents in detail the original results of completed research projects. Its structure contains four fundamental sections: introduction, methodology, results and conclusions.

Reflection articles

A document resulting from a completed research where the results of published or unpublished research on a field of science or technology are analyzed, systematized and integrated, in order to account for the progress and development trends. It is characterized by presenting a careful bibliographic review of at least 50 references.

Reporte de caso

Document that presents the results of a study on a particular situation in order to make known the technical and methodological experiences considered in a specific case.

All the data of authors, committees, evaluators and other collaborators of the Colombian Journal of Social Sciences introduced in the OJS platform and / or articles will be used exclusively for the inclusion of the journal in Indexing and Summary Systems and the purposes declared by this magazine and will not be available for any other purpose or another person.

This is an open access journal that does not charge authors for either the editorial process or the publication. All costs of editorial production are assumed by the Luis Amigó Catholic University.

The journals is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative 4.0 International License.
