Social Networks: Approach to a Literature Review

This paper presents a review of literature of the social networking, with an approach to aspects of their impact in education, with a special emphasis on the social network Facebook because of the growth that it has had in recent years. The use of social networking is becoming more widespread in education and it is important, in response to this reality, studies on its potential use, impact and areas for improvement.
The text presents different views of social networks: as communication spaces, their use in different educational levels, collaborative workspaces, and support for research and training of teachers, among others, and performed in the end, an analysis of different uses of social networking in education, and finally, an analysis of the use of educational applications within social networks.
