Hasta aquí el razonamiento es perfecto, pero, ¿qué es un ingeniero? Algunos dicen que un ingeniero es el queaprovecha los recursos de la naturaleza en beneficio de la humanidad. Esta definición es muy satisfactoria pero ha dejado de ser exacta desde el momento que muchos ingenieros han pasado a ser empleados del Gobierno, y en lugar de aprovechar los recursos de la naturaleza, aprovechan los recursos del presupuesto nacional.
Se afirma también que ingeniero deriva de ingenio, pero esto parece demasiado ingenioso para ser cierto.
Muchos sostienen que un ingeniero es un técnico que, para dividir 4 por 2 emplea la regla de cálculo y obtiene 2,1 ó 1.9.
Yo por mi parte afirmaría que ingeniero es un hombre que estudia seis años para ser ingeniero y que al fin comienza a serlo cuando se olvidó de todo lo que estudió.
