La ciencia es a menudo acumulativa, es decir, para construir los instrumentos más poderosos, efectúan medidas más exactas, precisan de mejores y más amplios conceptos de las teorías, y así sucesivamente. Si bien los paradigmas pueden cambiar, las investigaciones suelen evolucionar en función del rendimiento pasado, lo que constituye una justificación para un mayor desarrollo. El científico estará más seguro en su investigación y mejor preparado para nuevos retos si sabe cómo su tema, en particular, ha evolucionado históricamente, cuáles fueron sus principales dificultades, las soluciones encontradas y los problemas pendientes.Downloads
