Boing Global S. de R.L., located in the free zone of Colón, Panama, has a problem associated with noncompliance with the service promises established for the shipping area, which results in fines, penalties and additional costs. These fines range from 10% to 25% of the value of the orders; Boing Global has paid around US$180,000 in the last three years for non-compliance. Out-of-time delivery is largely due to poor tracking of Delivery Status, the format in which delivery information is recorded: the problem of data collection and use, since there are no real-time indicators to use, means that the different areas are not synchronized, which directly affects the flow of information. Since the data could be transformed into valuable information that could reduce the losses associated with the payment of fines for non-compliance, the proposal is to: i) study the baseline information, ii) propose strategies that could improve the current situation and, finally, iii) evaluate the importance of the proposal. The above with a view to improving the flow of information and indicators. This study is of great importance to the company at an economic and management level with a view to continuously improve processes and generate value for stakeholders. The solution will have an approach to reduce fines and penalties; additionally, data collection and interpretation can improve the flow of information in the organization.Downloads
