The authors development in this work a new porous material from activated carbon with phosphoric acid, which is obtained from a Creole banana stem. The adsorption capacity is established by static method evaluating 5 points in which the coal is subjected to different percentages of humidity. The surface area (Sbet) of the carbon obtained was analyzed and its value was established in the B.E.T. method
The development of a new porous material extends the possibilities of research in fields such as refrigeration using as solar energy source and, in the electronics, where the large surface area of the activated carbon is used to build super capacitors putting the carbon between the plates Parallel, whereby these devices have a capacitance thousands of times greater than that of high capacity electrolytic capacitors.
