Amid a turbulent global landscape, issue 49 of Poiésis magazine is being published at a time when Colombia is once again grappling with the tension between political power and the fragility of human life. President Donald Trump’s threats of bombing, coupled with recent military actions in the Atlantic and Pacific against vessels belonging to alleged drug traffickers, paint a picture that challenges the ethical foundations upon which human dignity rests. From a psychological perspective, these events open the door to a profound reflection on institutional violence, fear, and the way in which the discourse of power manages to inscribe itself in collective subjectivity.
