Abstract

This study analyzes the civil service in Colombia, considering that this country has, from the year 2004, adopted legislation aimed at professionalizing the civil service of their governments. This work has as central axis analysis results obtained by Act 909 of 2004, which regulates public employment, the civil service and public management in Colom-bia. The research paradigm of this work is institutional, accompanied by a qualitative and interpretative methodology, to attempt an analysis of the civil service in this scenario and thus assess its possible development and progress in the light of this last legislative initiative.
