Between the sick body and the body exscribed in the novel View from a Sidewalk by Fernando Molano Vargas

Abstract

This article proposes to analyze the novel Vista desde una acera (View from a sidewalk) by Fernando Molano Vargas as from AIDS’s, homosexuality and corporal experience discourses, to be able body’s vindication through becoming of the lived corporeity and narrative expression. Based on Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology and narrated body as Jean Luc Nancy’s concept, is explained how main characters of the novel and their commitment with literature, it helps them as a medium to claim their act on own bodies; to transcend social stigma and reaffirm their experience of world. Through past and present corporalities’s exploration, Vista desde una acera celebrates, in last, transformer power of love, the language’s and narrative’s in structuring and vindicating corporal identities.
