Abstract

Faced with the rupture that has been evidenced between reasoning and feeling,
some authors have stated the importance of rescuing the affective and subjective
component as a vital element for the creation of knowledge. This is why, in this essay,
it is intended to address the ideas presented in the exciting presentation by Professor
Serge Gougbèmon at the XIII International Congress of Intercultural Philosophy, who
takes up the legacy of Emanuel Lévinas on otherness and the conception of different
worlds, and it reminds us, students, of the importance of being attentive to the multiple
manifestations of knowledge, which can be found from apparently banal conversations
to even face gestures.
