The dissemination journal Poiésis publishes its second edition of 2023, Issue No. 45, in the year when Artificial Intelligence (AI) has arrived to revolutionize the world. We are only beginning to witness the effects of its use, and one of them has begun to impact academic production and article writing. Editorial teams have had to prepare themselves to confront the use of AI, whether for good or ill. This editorial has been crafted by a philosopher and professor from the Universidad de Antioquia and our university. The professional in question is Edison Francisco Viveros Chavarría, holding a master’s degree in Education and Human Development from the Universidad de Manizales–CINDE and a bachelor’s degree in Family Development from the Universidad Católica Luis Amigó. He presents an intriguing article about the Colombian film “The kings of the world: dancing in contravia”, directed by Laura Mora Ortega. The film is available on Netflix and tells the story of five street youths from Medellín who face the harsh reality of a country dedicated to war and land expropriation. The title of his article is “The kings of the world”
In our first section, “International Contributors,” readers will find two articles. The first is titled “Hope as a predictor of post-traumatic growth in survivors of COVID-19”, in which the authors aim to determine if hope contributes to post-traumatic growth, considering a population suffering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The second article is titled “A Planet with Happy People: Clues about Human Promotion in a Social Foundation in Bogotá, D.C,” in which the author conducts an ethnographic essay in a community institution located in a peripheral area of the Colombian capital. The objective is to describe some aspects that aim to answer the question, “What is human promotion?”
In the “Local Contributors” section, we have three texts. The first is titled “From psychosocial intervention to psychosocial involvement”, in which the authors address two questions: What is meant by neutrality in psychosocial intervention? Is it possible to transition from psychosocial intervention to psychosocial involvement and support? The second article in this section seeks to understand the configurations or forms of love in current society, specifically in non-monogamous relationships: polyamorous, swingers, and open relationships. Its title is “From romantic to open love. Configurations of love in non-monogamous relationships”. The third article is titled “The recognition of the victims of the Colombian armed conflict”, in which the author aims to identify and understand the recognition processes experienced by the victims of this conflict in the territories of Caldas and Sucre.
In the third section, “National Contributors”, we find one article. It reviews the technical characteristics and psychometric properties that psychological instruments must possess for safe and ethical use. Its title is “ Psychometric quality of an instrument: brief review”.
Lastly, in our “Essay Reading” section, we find an article by students who participated in the Academic Day of the Faculty. It is titled “ Forgetting is necessary. Mnemic lightness and mental health”, in which the author argues for the necessity of forgetting in the pursuit of justice within the framework of truth, justice, and reparation processes carried out in Colombia with the Special Jurisdiction for Peace. The article introduces the concept of mnemic lightness and develops it based on the philosophy of Paul Ricoeur, cognitive psychology of memory, general systems theory, and narrative therapy. We hope you enjoy this new issue of the Poiésis journal.
