Poiésis publishes its 41th issue, with which the magazine reaches its twenty-first year of existence. It is an edition carried out with diligence, starting the alternation modality at the Universidad Católica Luis Amigó, and with the hope that next year the entire academic community will be present, after having suffered, for more than a year, the confinement to which the pandemic subjected us due to Covid-19. The editorial was written by Edwin Sepúlveda, Ph.D., in which he talks about the importance of new digital technologies and their influence on contemporary learning contemporary learning.

In our first section, entitled “International Contributors”, we have two articles. The first is entitled Affective-sexual education in family schools: a matter about vital construction (Rodríguez Bustamante et al., 2021) and its objective has been to characterize the place of family schools in promoting affective-sexual education of boys, girls and adolescents at school. The second is entitled Community Resilience Facing Social Exclusion: Case of María Cano Carambolas, Medellín (Acuña Rodríguez & Lasagabaster Unzueta, 2021), in which its authors reflect on the resilient capacities of the inhabitants from the María Cano Carambolas neighborhood, in the city of Medellín, a work documented through field diaries and stories from the students of the main educational institution in that neighborhood.

In the “Local Contributors” section, readers will find four articles; the first is entitled Distance education: characteristics, challenges and learning (Correa Guisao et al., 2021), a reflection article that makes an approach to a topic that is very topical in Colombia: distance education; In it, the authors rescue the characteristics, advantages and challenges faced by this educational modality. The second text in this section is Education for peace as an input for the post-conflict in Colombia (Álvarez Bahena et al., 2021), it is the result of an investigation that aimed to examine the civic competencies that students of Universidad Católica Luis Amigó have been developing to participate in a culture that aims at peace. The methodology used in said research was qualitative; its approach was interpretive and was carried out through a case study. The third text is entitled Codependency: an addiction or an inappropriate relationship pattern (Cueto Prieto & Corzo Pérez, 2021), this reflection article derived from a research project that addresses the issue of emotional codependency, a problem that affects each more and more people and characterized by frequent states of dissatisfaction and personal suffering, since the subjects who suffer from it are focused on attending to the needs of their partner or other people, without taking their own into account. A fourth text, also the product of an study carried out by a research group belonging to the University›s Social Work program, carries Name Reflection on the incidence of social inequality in the mental health of young people in the El Recreo neighborhood of the municipality of San Andrés from Cuerquia–Antioquia (2019-2020) (Areiza Echavarría et al, 2021); This text explores the incidence of social inequality in the mental health of young people in the municipality of San Andrés de Cuerquia, Antioquia, during the first semester of 2020.

The second section of our journal, «National Collaborators», contains wan interesting article. The article entitled Influence of the teaching personality in the learning of a foreign language (Zuluaga Grisales, 2021), and in it the author makes a review that addresses the issue of the influence that the personality of a teacher can have on the student’s self-concept and attention process, which favors (or not) students’ learning.

The third section of the journal, «Operational groups», is a very special section, since it includes Articles related to the psychosocial intervention methodology chosen by the University’s Psychology Program for the training of its students. The article that on this occasion accompanies this section is entitled A look at the evaluation processes of the operational learning groups (Arias et al, 2021), in which a documentary review is made, takes into account the evaluation processes of operational groups, emphasizing the practical experience that teachers carry out in the application of the operative group in their courses as a learning strategy. In the «Reading of essays» section, the preferred section of the journal, as it deals with the production of our students, we find three texts. The first is entitled Colombian educational psychology: a transition to development (Ángel Gómez, 2021); in it the author makes a reflection on educational psychology, which has undergone various changes over time. The article describes the process of transition, criticism and change of this discipline, and thus be able to understand where it comes from, where it is and where it is going at the national level. The second of the texts is entitled The meaning of life, an existential condition (Vanegas Rivas & Marín Rodríguez, 2021); the authors seek to answer the question about what is the human being in the world for, a world where reification, hyperconnectivity, consumerism, uncertainty, immediacy, boredom and boredom prevail.

In our “Recommended articles” section, we find the article entitled An approach to pedagogical learning in mild intellectual disability (Quintero López et al., 2022), which presents an updated reflection on methods and presents an updated reflection on effective methods and strategies for the learning of calculus, writing and reading in subjects with mild intellectual disabilities (Quintero López et al., 2022), and reading in subjects with mild intellectual disabilities. The next Article is called The Couple and Their Therapist. Conceptualizations, evolutions and challenges (González Quirós et al., 2021); Here the authors analyze the concept of the couple and the skills of the couple therapist, which were identified in different documentary sources on the subject of contemporary therapy, managing to identify the changes that have occurred in the conceptualization of said therapeutic intervention. The last of the articles in this section and in this issue of the magazine is entitled Social work and environment, a scenario for innovation and pertinent intervention (Castrillón & Posada Muñoz, 2021); The article aims to recognize the importance of social work in the intervention of contemporary environmental problems, and the need to include environmental issues in academic and professional training.
