It is an honour and a pleasure to present this new issue, a collection of voices and perspectives that, through research, invite us to better understand our world and, above all, to connect with the human realities that surround us. The seventh edition of Ciencia y Academia Journal weaves together the participation of different social and academic actors who, through scientific methodologies, seek to outline solutions that permeate the daily life of human beings.

A journey through human realities

In this edition, we begin a journey that takes us to the heart of the most challenging human experiences. Ovalle-Pedrozo offers us a hopeful perspective on "Challenges and opportunities of peacebuilding in Colombia". This article explores the key elements necessary to achieve lasting peace in Colombia, highlighting the importance of addressing social inequalities and the factors that impact vulnerable communities and victims of the armed conflict. Through a review of scientific literature, significant relationships are established, supported by theoretical inferences.

Exploring the soul and urban life

We delve into the thought that has shaped our understanding of being, with Bravo-Ruiz, who explores "The definition of soul as pneuma in the Stoic tradition". This article invites us to an introspective reflection on the essence of humanity through the history of thought.

The text that closes the review article section: "Control and mitigation of mites in ornamental flower species in Colombia". An innovative work that highlights the opportunities that Colombian flower growers have for the production of national emblems, flowers, and their biological control.

Looking toward a sustainable and conscious future

The journal also invites us to look at the present and connect with our environment. Serna-Mazo, Bedoya-Jaramillo, Palacio-Mesa, and Calle-Piedrahita present "Airbnb and gentrification: an analysis of collaborative marketing". This article examines an economic phenomenon and reflects on the impact of technology on our cities and communities, analyzing how these transformations affect the lives of those who inhabit them.

Connecting with education and well-being

Education, as a pillar of our future, is presented with an innovative and human vision. Guzmán-Atehortúa, Pomare-Castellón, Osorio-Londoño, and Cano-Sánchez present "Creative thinking and new technologies in education: theoretical and research contributions". This work highlights how creativity and technology can come together to foster each student’s unique potential, recognizing their talents and learning styles.

A deeply moving theme is addressed by Martínez-Hoyos in "Early detection in ASD: shifting from deficit to social and educational inclusion". Their reflection encourages us to see autism spectrum disorder not as a limitation, but as an opportunity to build bridges toward inclusion, recognizing the diversity of minds.

Aligned with emotional education, Albor-Licona invite us to reflect on "Neuroscience as an integrative axis for emotional education in teacher training". This article underscores the importance of nurturing the emotional states of our future educators, so that they, in turn, can guide their students with greater empathy and compassion.

We hope that each of these articles inspires and invites reflection and connects you more deeply with the many facets of the human experience. Enjoy this seventh edition of Ciencia and Academia!
